Vice-Premier's house set on fire in Ingushetia

Today at night, in the elite district of Nazran, unknown criminals have fired a new house of Vice-Premier of Ingushetia Bashir Aushev who is supervising in the government the so-called "power block" of the Republic.

"At night, the criminals drove up to the house in a car and threw in several bottles with flame liquid; the house was soon all in flames," the RIA "Novosti" quotes a source at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia as saying.

The "Ingushetia.Ru" Internet edition gives a little different version of the incident: at night, about 20 armed persons rushed into the newly built and richly furnished house of Bashir Aushev, and, having found no Vice-Premier there, fired the house and disappeared.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the attempt on Bashir Aushev could be related to his official activities.

Also today at night, at about 2:00 a.m. Moscow time, unidentified persons have shelled from sub-machine guns and grenade launchers a private house belonging to an employee of the GOVD (City Militia Unit) of Karabulak. The intensive bombardment lasted for several minutes; nobody has suffered, but the house was damaged in several places.
