Batdyev and Semyonov have reached run-off in presidential elections in Karachaevo-Cherkessia

Mustafa Batdyev, a Republican National Bank's CEO, and Vladimir Semyonov, an incumbent president of Karachaevo-Cherkessia, have reached the run-off in the republic's presidential elections.

Republican Election Commission Chairman Safar Geryukov informed that Batdyev won 41.8% of the vote, and Semyonov nearly 40%. About 90% of the ballots have been processed.

Geryukov noted that the date for the run-off will be set once the final results of the first round are available.

Election commission sources informed that, according to the latest data, Supreme Court Chairman of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Islam Burlakov received 13,17%, State Duma Deputy Magomed Tekeyev 1,49%, and Nedra company general director Issali Nauruzov 0,2% of the vote.

Turnout was 62.17%.
