Kindergarten teacher who stuck a child's mouth with adhesive tape sentenced to conditional imprisonment in Stavropol

Today, the magistrate court of the Promyshlenny District of the city of Stavropol has sentenced the kindergarten teacher accused of cruel treatment of children to six months of corrective works. Besides, 10 percent of her salary will be withheld in favour of the state.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the court that Lilia Leonova, teacher of Kindergarten No. 78 "Alye Parusa", was found guilty under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Poor execution of duties of upbringing a minor by a worker of an educational establishment accompanied by cruel treatment of the minor").

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that the teacher was accused of sticking the mouth of a fooling girl with adhesive tape.

The incident happened on April 2 this year. The investigation has established that teacher Lilia Leonova used adhesive tape to stick the mouth of the girl, born in 2001, who behaved badly. Besides, it was established that the teacher of the kindergarten "for a long time was poorly performing her duties of upbringing children in this educational establishment," as the Prosecutor's Office of the Territory had reported earlier.

The defendant denied her guilt.
