Dzneladze, Boris Davidovich

Politician, one of Komsomol founders in Georgia.

Born August 23 (September 5), 1901, in the city of Gori, in a family of a tradesman. In September 1917, was an active participant in creation of a youth organization Spartak (Spartacus) in Tbilisi. In 1919, was a member of Tbilisi committee of Spartak, later a member of regional committee of the Communist Youth Union (KSM) of Transcaucasia. In October 1919, was arrested by Menshevik government of Georgia for participating in preparing an armed uprising and exiled from Georgia in early 1920. Returned and continued revolutionary activities. In March 1920, was rearrested and imprisoned in Metekhi Jail (Tbilisi), later transferred to Kutaisi jail. Was freed in May 1920 and headed the work on convoking the Congress of Georgia's KSM, which opened on August 25, 1920, but was dispersed by the Menshevik authorities; Dzneladze was arrested and exiled again. In September 1920, participated in the Congress of Orient Nations, Baku, and in October, participated in the Third Congress of Georgia's KSM. Upon establishment of Soviet power in Georgia, was a secretary of the Central Committee of Georgia's Komsomol, secretary of the Second regional Committee of Tbilisi branch of Bolshevik Communist Party of Georgia, secretary of Dusheti County Committee of the Party, and Commissar of Tbilisi Military School.

Died on October 5, 1923, of a severe disease, in the city of Borzhomi. Buried in Tbilisi.
