Mahomet Tekeyev insists on withdrawal of OMON platoons from Karachaevo-Cherkessia

During a debate among presidential contenders in the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Mahomet Tekeyev notified that he applied to the President's Plenipotentiary in the South Federal District Viktor Kazantsev with a suggestion to withdraw elements of the Russian Interior Ministry, sent to provide security for the people of Karachaevo-Cherkessia, from the territory of the republic. Mahomet Tekeyev motivated his demand with the fact that many of the OMON (militia platoon for special purposes) officers had taken part in a counter-terrorist operation on the territory of Chechnya, that is why they were prejudiced against the Caucasian people. So during his meeting with voters in one of the settlements of Karachaevo-Cherkessia local residents made complaints against the actions of the officers from the Voronezh emergency platoon that oppressed young people.
