Defence succeeds in seeking hospitalization of Zarema Musaeva
In Chechnya, a court postponed the consideration of the complaint lodged against the refusal to release Zarema Musaeva on conditional early relief (CER) because of her hospitalization, which the defence insisted on.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 27, the Shali District Court for the second time dismissed the motion for the Zarema Musaeva’s CER. The court justified its refusal by the fact that Zarema Musaeva had not compensated for the damage in the fraud case and had been put in the penal colony on the preventive registration list.
The Zarema Musaeva’s blood sugar level has approached a critically high level, drug therapy in the penal colony does not help, and the court has postponed the consideration of the complaint against the denial of CER for a month, Zarema Musaeva’s advocate Alexander Savin reported on September 27.
Advocate Alexander Savin explained that he came to the court hearing, but it did not take place, as Zarema Musaeva was hospitalized. The advocate emphasized that he “had been seeking to get Zarema Musaeva hospitalized for more than a month,” the human rights organization “Team Against Torture”* reports in its Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that on March 28, the advocate reported that the Zarema Musaeva’s vision had deteriorated sharply and the woman began to suffer from severe pain. The deterioration of the Zarema Musaeva’s health state became another reason for CER, but the woman is in fact being kept as a hostage by the authorities of Chechnya, human rights defenders pointed out.
*The “Team against Torture” (TaT, formerly the “Committee against Torture” – CaT) was created by the lawyers who had earlier worked for the CaT, which was included into the register of the NCOs performing the functions of foreign agents.
