Blogger Askhabali Alibekov offered contract with Russian MIA
Officials from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) offered blogger Askhabali Alibekov, an author of the “Dikiy Desantnik” (Wild Paratrooper) YouTube channel, convicted in a case on an attack on a policeman, to go to the zone of the special military operation (SMO). Askhabali Alibekov is ready to help the wounded, but does not intend to participate in the fighting, his advocate notes.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that former military man Askhabali Alibekov was sentenced to two years and four months of imprisonment. According to the investigators’ version, during his detention, Askhabali Alibekov struck the policeman twice in the leg. The blogger claimed that he hit the law enforcer by accident, as his arms were being twisted.
Askhabali Alibekov will file an appeal against the sentence, advocate Ruslan Aliullin reports.
“In the appeal, we will point out that the court did not take into account a number of mitigating circumstances, including the fact that Askhabali Alibekov apologized to the victim, and the latter accepted his apology. In addition, my client points out that he did not show such aggression that he had to be detained with the participation of 15 people,” Ruslan Aliullin explained.
The advocate also said that officials from the Ministry of Defence came to Askhabali Alibekov with an offer to take part in the special military operation. “He replied that he was ready to go, but only to places not related to military action, that is, to help the wounded, etc. After that, no military officials contacted him again,” advocate Ruslan Aliullin emphasized.
