Makhachkala resident to get compensation for unlawful criminal prosecution

The Russian Ministry of Finance requested court to reduce the amount of compensation for Patimat Akhmedova, referring to the possibility of “unjust enrichment” of the victim.

The woman requested compensation for moral damage caused by unlawful criminal prosecution.

Patimat Akhmedova was accused under the criminal article on illegal possession of drugs, which stipulated a sentence of up to three years of imprisonment.
