Djabrailov's mother reproaches Dagestani leader for ignoring her appeals

Akhmed Djabrailov served as a storm-trooper in the Chechen special unit "Akhmat", and returned home a week before his death at a Makhachkala police station, his mother has stated. She has reproached the head of Dagestan for not reacting to the violence against a fighter in the special military operation (SMO) even after her written appeal to him.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 27, Shamil Khadulaev, the head of the Dagestani Public Oversight Commission (POC), posted a video record from surveillance cameras available at the Sovietsky ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala and stated that law enforcers "willingly or unwillingly" were involved in the death of the detained Akhmed Djabrailov. Those involved are trying to avoid responsibility, and his relatives are being pressured, Akhmed's parents have stated in their appeal to President Putin and high-ranking law enforcers. A month after Djabrailov's death, there is no criminal case or detainees, despite the existence of video records of torture, his mother was outraged in her appeal to Vladimir Putin.

Khadizhat Gasanova, Akhmed Djabrailov's mother, has reported that law enforcers had misled her by telling her that her son died of a heart attack. According to her version, she found out what had actually happened at the police station, when she saw a video record of what happened; it follows from Gasanova's video appeal, which was posted by the "Chernovik" outlet in its Telegram channel.

She said that her son served as an assault fighter in the "Akhmat" Chechen special unit. "The law enforcers who used violence against Djabrailov in the police station were not stopped by the fact that he had returned a week ago from the SMO zone. It's already the second month after his death, but the criminals have not been arrested," Ms Gasanova has claimed, adding that she had lost her only son.

"How is it possible that they tortured a SMO fighter; and no one has been punished to this day?" the woman has asked.

She has reproached Sergey Melikov, the head of Dagestan, for not reacting to what happened to her son.
