Man accused of plotting terror act in Pyatigorsk dies

Kirill Buzmakov, one of the figurants in the case of preparing to set fire to the Pyatigorsk military commissariat (registration and enlistment office), has died at home; he was released from the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in grave condition. Buzmakov wrote to his friend that his illness was caused by torture and absence of medical treatment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nikolai Murnev, Sergey Dudchenko, Vladimir Burmai and another Yessentuki resident figure in the case of plotting a terror act. In December 2023, Anna, Murnev's wife, reported that he had been beaten up, and that law enforcers forced him to confirm in court his earlier testimony against an acquaintance.

According to Anna Murneva, the above men were united by their love for cars and motorcycles. They had a group chat for eight people, in which they discussed events in Ukraine and criticized Russian authorities. In October 2022, Dudchenko, who openly placed pacifist posts in social networks and held motorcycle rallies with the Ukrainian flag, was detained. Then, a search was conducted in Burmai's house, after which he left Russia; and a search was conducted at the fourth defendant. Murneva said that physical pressure was applied to her husband, and narcotic drugs were planted on him.

One of those accused of plotting a terror act in the Stavropol Territory, the 38-year-old Kirill Buzmakov, has died after torture, the "OVD-Info"* project has informed. During his detention in the fall of 2022, his facial bone was broken, and he wasn't provided with medical care for 1.5 years. In order to hide torture traces, he was not hospitalized and promised treatment if he gave the necessary testimonies.

The analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have suggested that special services are motivated to spread falsified reports about the detention of suspected terrorists in the Stavropol Territory in order to improve reporting and for propaganda purposes.
