Four figurants in riots at Uytash Airport released

Four persons accused within the case of riots at the airport that broke out in October 2023 have been released from the Makhachkala SIZO (pre-trial prison).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 29, 2023, mass riots occurred at the Uytash Makhachkala Airport; they were triggered by reports about the arrival of an aircraft with passengers from Israel. More than 20 people were suffered; a total of 140 people are in custody within the criminal cases opened on the above riots; other 1200 persons have been brought to administrative responsibility. This was stated on July 9 by Abdurashid Magomedov, the Dagestani Interior Minister.

“Four defendants within the airport case have been released from the Makhachkala SIZO,” Shamil Khadulaev, the chairman of the Dagestani Public Oversight Commission (POC), wrote in his Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Armavir City Court had twice postponed the consideration of the airport unrest case opened against five defendants, namely, Anvarbek Ataev, Islam Ibragimov, Magomed Omaraskhabov, Rabadan Radjabov and Salik Ramazanov. The state prosecutor asked to sentence them to terms ranging from seven to 10 years of freedom deprivation.
