Circassian activist Kase Kik reports his relatives being searched

Law enforcers have searched the residence of the parents of Kase Kik, the leader of the Circassian Congress, who is living abroad. He has treated the unsanctioned search as a pressure attempt.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the police had drawn up a protocol against Kase Kik on discrediting the military, but on June 9, 2023, the court returned the case materials to the UVD (Interior Department) because of procedural violations. The case was again brought to court on July 7, 2023, but the court closed it because the period for administrative liability had expired.

In June 2022, law enforcers detained Kase Kik in Cherkessk. He stated that he was tortured and a protocol was drawn up against him for petty hooliganism. The court sentenced him to seven days of arrest, finding him guilty. Later in June, he left Russia.

Kase Kik has reported on the Facebook* that his relatives' homes had been searched.

“Yesterday, my relatives were once again subjected to psychological torture. Employees of the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) and <...> of the Centre for Combating Extremism (Centre "E") broke into my house and in the usual random manner took away the phones from my adopted parents (who raised me after the death of my mother and father, and I consider them my second parents) and conducted unauthorized searches in violation of all laws of the illegal Russia's government of,” Kase has written, treating the incident as “psychological pressure through people close to me.”

*On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
