Soldier from Makhachkala accused of being absent from military unit due to participation in SMO

In 2022, Timur Nasirkhanov, a soldier, was unjustifiably sent to the special military operation (SMO) zone; an expertise has confirmed that the command forged his signature in the contract, his mother has complained. After demobilization, Nasirkhanov was returned to his unit and forced to serve out the term he spent at the SMO.

According to Tatiana Nasirkhanova, a resident of Makhachkala and Timur's mother, her son was called up for military service back in November 2021. In February 2022, without concluding a contract or undergoing training, he was sent to the SMO zone in the Kharkov Region of Ukraine.

When his term of military service expired in the fall of 2022, they refused to demobilize him, since he had served for some time under contract.

Khidirnabi Shabanov, an advocate, said that in January 2023, a criminal case was opened against Nasirkhanov for leaving his military unit without permit (provides for up to seven years of freedom deprivation). The advocate believes that the case was initiated under false pretexts, as if Nasirkhanov's conscription term had not expired. On February 6, 2023, the investigator opened another criminal case against Nasirkhanov – for alleged desertion from his military unit (provides for up to 15 years of freedom deprivation).
