On April 22-28, two persons killed and one wounded in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from April 22 to 28, 2024, two policemen were killed and another was wounded during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the “Caucasian Knot”, based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

On the night of April 22, in Karachaevsk, policemen were attacked while they were patrolling the territory. Unidentified people opened fire on the policemen and then stole their firearms. As a result, Lieutenant Murat Kalakhanov and Sergeant Roman Guschin were killed, and another policeman was wounded. Five suspects have been put on the wanted list.

Let us remind you that the above-described armed incident in Karachay-Cherkessia has become the first within 2.5 years. It was preceded by a counterterrorist operation (CTO) carried out in the same area on November 26, 2021, during which two suspected militants were killed.
