Southern Russia: dozens of migrants prescribed to leave the country

As a result of the raids conducted by law enforcers after the terror act in the Crocus City Hall, 30 migrants in Krasnodar, 87 ones in the Volgograd Region, 46 citizens of Central Asia in the Rostov Region, seven citizens of Uzbekistan in Ingushetia and a group of foreign students in Astrakhan have been ordered to leave Russia. Some of them are ordered to leave Russia on their own, while others will be expelled by force.

The Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has stated that those detained during the counterterrorist operations (CTOs) in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk had planned terror acts; weapons, ammunition and an improvised explosive device (IED) were found on them. Four people also supplied money and weapons to the attackers on the Crocus City Hall and themselves prepared a terror act, the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) has stated. Five detained natives of Tajikistan, one of whom has Russian citizenship, have been arrested till June 1 under the case of participation in a terrorist organization and illegal arms trafficking.

A total of 87 foreigners will be expelled from the Volgograd Region, the joint press service of the regional courts has reported. Other 92 citizens of Turkmenistan, 65 of Uzbekistan, 13 of Tajikistan, six from Armenia, three from Azerbaijan, one from Georgia and citizens of other countries have appeared before courts.

Thirty people will be expelled from Russia as a result of raids conducted by law enforcers, the Krasnodar police have reported.

A total of 46 foreigners will be expelled from the Rostov Region, the Rostov Region FSB Branch has reported. "The objects of the checks were one of the construction sites and catering facilities, where immigrants from Central Asia used to traditionally gather ... Overall, 119 foreign citizens have been identified, who stayed in Russia in violation of the migration legislation," the TASS has reported.

A total of 112 migrants with Russian citizenship who were not registered at military commissariats have been given summonses.

Seven people will be expelled to Uzbekistan after the raids conducted by law enforcers in Nazran, the Ingush Branch of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

Earlier, human rights defenders have repeatedly stressed violations of migrants' rights in the regions of Southern Russia. In particular, in August 2016, 108 migrants went on a hunger strike in a special temporary detention facility for foreigners in Sochi. At the same time, more than 10 years ago, Russian rights defenders opposed the campaign launched in the country against illegal migrants.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer. The amount is ridiculous and should be appealed against, lawyers and human rights defenders have stated.
