Twenty-two teenagers get registered after riots at Makhachkala Airport

After the anti-Semitic action and riots that occurred at the "Uitash" Airport, 22 teenagers were registered with the juvenile affairs division, the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 29, 2023, mass riots broke out at Makhachkala Airport because of the information about the arrival of a plane with passengers from Israel. More than 20 people suffered, including nine policemen. By January 12, 2024, Dagestani courts had received administrative cases against over 900 people accused in connection with the unrests.

As reported by the outlet entitled "Youth of Dagestan", which referred to the data of the Dagestani MIA, during the riots at Makhachkala Airport, 28 minors were taken to police stations, including nine schoolchildren and students, one working teenager, the remaining 18 ones do not work or study. As a result, 52 protocols of administrative offenses were drawn up: 22 ones on minors, and 30 others on parents.

By December 13, 2023, about 150 people had been arrested in connection with the unrests at the airport; one of them was also accused of assaulting a law enforcer. Among those arrested, there are those who simply observed what was happening, a member of the Dagestani Public Oversight Commission (POC) has noted. On February 17, rioters' relatives turned to President Putin asking for leniency. They stated that their detained relatives had fallen victim to provocation and made a mistake.
