Krasnodar resident fined for discrediting Russian Army

In Krasnodar, a court fined Anzor Kvashilava, who held a solo pacifist picket and posted photographs of his protest action on social media.

The Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar fined Anzor Kvashilava 30,000 roubles, finding him guilty of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. According to the court, in June, Anzor Kvashilava posted on social media the photographs of his solo picket with a pacifist poster in his hands, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports.

On its official website, the Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar reported that on June 27, Anzor Kvashilava posted two photos on his personal page on Instagram** in which he was holding in his hands a poster with the inscription: “We are against [the special military operation].”

According to the court’s official website, Anzor Kvashilava “fully admitted his guilt in committing the offense.”

*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.

**On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
