Dagestani villagers call on Putin to intervene in their land conflict with authorities
Residents of the village of Mutsalaul, Khasavyurt District, who had asked to be allocated the land plots due to them by the law, refused refusals, while authorities drew up a new general plan, in which land was allocated only for social facilities. This was stated by the villagers in their appeal to President Vladimir Putin and asked him for help in solving the problem.
The "Chernovik" (Draft) outlet has posted the video appeal in its Telegram channel. According to the applicants, authorities want to leave them without their land plots. Due to an acute shortage of land, the price for a plot of 0.08 hectares has risen by "half a million roubles." "This cost is unaffordable for disabled people, large and young families … We are being pushed to spontaneously land seize, but we don't want to break the law and aggravate the tense situation in the country," the authors of the appeal have emphasized.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of other villages in Dagestan have also complained about frauds with land plots, in which, in their opinion, officials were involved. Thus, in April, residents of the village of Kurush, Dokuzparin District, recorded a video appeal to Vladimir Putin and the head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, with a complaint that local authorities has unjustifiably transferred the land, on which they grazed their livestock, to the national park.
