In North Ossetia, people united by memory of terror act in Beslan

Mourning events dedicated to the 19th anniversary of the terror act in Beslan ended in North Ossetia. People who came to the school No. 1 in Beslan lit candles, carried flowers in memory of the dead, brought bottles of water, opened them and left them in a school gym. Many families came to the school No. 1 these days, brought their children there, and told them about what had happened at the school.

On September 1, Beslan hosted mourning events on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the seizure of the school by militants. People came to the school No. 1 to lay flowers in memory of the victims of the terror act.

Zalina Aguzarova, a resident of Vladikavkaz, said that in 2004, when the terror act occurred, she entered college. “We came here with a group of colleagues after 40 days after the tragedy ... When we came here, we saw everything, and we left here matured. This year, I came here with my children, let them know what happened here,” said the young woman.

Tamara, a resident of Beslan, remembered that her husband’s cousin with a son were held hostage during the terror act. The boy managed to escape, but his mother was killed.

After visiting the school No. 1 in Beslan, Natalia Mazaeva, the deputy director for educational work of a school from Nevinnosmyssk, noted that “everyone should visit the school here.” “Whatever the situation from a political point of view, innocent children suffered here ... We may talk a lot about politics, about rulers, but children should never suffer,” emphasized Natalia Mazaeva.

At 1:05 p.m. on September, 334 white balloons were released into the sky in the school yard, symbolizing the souls of those killed in the terror act. Then a religious procession was held from the school No. 1 to the memorial cemetery “City of Angels” with photographs of the victims.
