"Beslan Mothers" call on to speed up inquiry into terror act

The investigation of the criminal case on the terror act committed in Beslan has not yet been completed, activists of the "Beslan Mothers" have stated on the 19th anniversary of the school seizure. They called for speeding up the investigation and announced an appeal to the court to lift the ban on criminal prosecution of the members of the hostage rescue operative headquarters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1, the "Izvestia" reported that investigators had named Aslanbek Parchiev, a native of Ingushetia, as one of the Beslan terrorists. Relatives said they did not believe in his involvement in the attack.

On September 1, mourning events were held in Beslan on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the school seizure.

The investigators engaged in studying the Beslan terror act have recognized one of the earlier unidentified terrorists, the NGO "Beslan Mothers" has confirmed.

Aneta Gadieva, a deputy chair of the "Beslan Mothers", has stressed that on May 10, the investigation of the terror act case was again extended until December 1, 2023.

Elvira Tuaeva, one of the terror act victims, has also recalled that the terror act victims still have no status.

For many years, victims of various terror acts have been trying to adopt a law that would define the obligation of the state to help terror act victims. In July 2022, the victims of the Beslan terror act complained about the obstacles in receiving medical care.

The participants of the press conference have also pointed out that this year few banners about the upcoming event were set up in Beslan and Vladikavkaz, which caused indignation both among the victims of the terror act and among ordinary residents of North Ossetia.
