Abubakar Yangulbaev reports two criminal cases against him

A criminal case under a terrorist article has been opened against Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer, who had earlier become a suspect in an extremism case. He believes that his comment about Akhmat Kadyrov's fate was the reason for initiated the new case.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ibragim Yangulbaev, another son of Zarema Musaeva, was put on the wanted list in the case of justifying terrorism. The "Rosfinmonitoring" (the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service) has included him into the register of extremists and terrorists; and in November 2022, Baisangur Yangulbaev was added to the register. Ibragim and Baisangur Yangulbaev now live in Europe.

Abubakar Yangulbaev said that the second criminal case had been initiated against him. "In Chechnya, a criminal case on terrorism has been initiated against me. Before that, there was already a case on extremism," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to his story, his comment about Akhmat Kadyrov's death posted in his Telegram channel was the reason for his persecution. He has noted that he deliberately intended to offend Ramzan Kadyrov.

"I don't support the way by which Akhmat Kadyrov was killed. Of course, this is wrong. And in general, I don't support any retaliatory violence in the same form," Abubakar Yangulbaev has written, stressing that he understands the unethical nature of his comment, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has reported.
