Kadyrov demands to punish law enforcers for raiding mosque near Moscow

Checking Muslims' documents during the Friday prayer in the town of Kotelniki has outraged Ramzan Kadyrov; he demanded that law enforcers be held accountable. Adam Delimkhanov, a State Duma MP, had a meeting on this occasion with the governor of the Moscow Region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this April Kadyrov intervened in the construction of a mosque near the Holy Lake in Moscow, where an Orthodox temple is already located. Kadyrov said that opponents of the construction of the mosque should be mobilized or go to trial. Human rights defenders then suggested that Kadyrov had decided to show himself as the main Russian Muslims' defender and demonstrate his increased influence, although he formally has no right to interfere in the events underway in another region.

Kadyrov said that he had instructed Delimkhanov to deal with the disruption of the Friday prayer in Kotelniki near Moscow. He treated the law enforcers' actions as "a provocation in the rear."

"The boorish attitude towards those praying during the service will not be taken for granted," Kadyrov has stated in his Telegram channel.

The Muslim community of the Moscow Region has informed that on July 7, during the namaz (Friday prayer), armed OMON (riot police) fighters broke into the mosque. "They failed to take off their boots, shouted by using obscene language, applied physical force and insulted the believers," says the video message posted on the YouTube channel named KO4A TV.

In its website, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of the Moscow Region has condemned "the barbaric actions of the OMON fighters who committed this derogatory raid."
