Court refuses to dismiss Dagestani contract soldier, wounded in Ukraine, from army

Alexei Tarasov, a contractor from the military unit stationed in Kaspiysk, who was wounded in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, is seeking dismissal from service after his contract expires. However, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has considered his complaint and upheld the previous court ruling.

According to the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project, in June 2022, Tarasov signed a three-month service contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), until September 6. On September 2, he was wounded; until September 16, he underwent treatment; and until October 19, 2022, he was on sick leave.

At the moment of the signing the decree on partial mobilization, no orders had been issued to dismiss Tarasov and exclude him from the personnel list of the military unit.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 24, 2023, an interview was held at the Volgograd Garrison Military Court on the claim of the contract soldier Alexei, who demanded to suspend his calling up for service until he re-passes the military medical commission. His defence has explained that his vacation is ending; and he can be sent back to the SMO in Ukraine. On April 10, 2023, his wife reported that the command of the military unit had threatened Alexei with a criminal case. On April 14, he was again refused hospitalization.
