Head of Ingushetia reports about four persons killed by law enforcers in CTO

Four people were killed and two more were detained during the counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted in the Malgobek District, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, the head of Ingushetia, has announced. Authorities have also reported the detention of nine residents of Ingushetia and Chechnya, suspected of aiding militants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the shelling on March 28 of the road-and-patrol (DPS) traffic police post located on the Ingush-North-Ossetian border, six residents of Ingushetia were put on the wanted list. Later, two of them (Ramazan Eldiev and Movsar Kottoev) were found dead. The CTO regime was introduced, but the wanted men managed to escape twice from law enforcers after shootouts – on April 3 in Malgobek and on April 5 in Zyazikov-Yurt; and in both cases law enforcers suffered losses. On April 7, one of the four wanted men (Amir Bokov) surrendered to the police; then, it became known about the detention of Mikail Moshkhoev. Amirkhan Gurazhev and Adam Ozdoev remained on the wanted list.

According to Mr Kalimatov, the head of Ingushetia, the attackers on law enforcers "have declared themselves as supporters of the 'Islamic State' (ISIL), an international terrorist organization banned in Russia." According to the press service of the head of Ingushetia, nine "accomplices of the bandit grouping" – residents of Ingushetia and Chechnya – have also been detained, the TASS reports.
