Special operation in Chechnya was the second in two weeks

The special operation in the village of Gvardeiskoye was held two weeks after the armed incident in Gudermes, where two men were shot dead.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on April 12, a special operation was conducted in the village of Gvardeiskoye, the Nadterechny District. According to the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF) was detained. Nobody has suffered among the law enforcers.

According to the "Caucasian Knot", based on its own materials and data from open sources, the special operation in Gvardeiskoye became the second armed incident in Chechnya within two weeks.

Let us remind you that at night on March 29, sources reported an attack on a police post in Gudermes, where two people were killed by law enforcers. Kadyrov stated that two militants refused to surrender, threw a grenade and were killed. Several people identified the dead as uncle and nephew, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has stated. According to the source of the "Caucasian Knot", one of the casualties had suffered from a mental illness.

The lull before the special operation in Gudermes lasted for more than four months. On November 21, 2022, in Grozny, an unidentified person attacked a GIBDD (traffic police) inspector with a knife and tried to escape with the inspector's service pistol. The inspector died, the attacker was killed.

In the report for 2022, the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) stated that a total of 104 crimes of a terrorist nature were detected in the republic within the year, including the liquidation of a terrorist cell and the killing of two alleged militants.

Back in January 2021, Kadyrov claimed that the gang underground in Chechnya was "completely liquidated"; it was stated after the militants led by Aslan Byutukaev were killed in a special operation in the outskirt of the village of Katar-Yurt. However, less than six months later, another incident occurred – on July 9, 2021, in Grozny a man attacked policemen and was killed.
