In North Ossetia, law enforcers first attacked within nine months

An incident at a checkpoint of the post-and-patrol police service (known as DPS) became the first attack on law enforcers in North Ossetia within almost nine months. The previous attack on law enforcers took place in the Alagirsky District in July 2022.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that last night, two law enforcers were wounded as a result of an armed attack on a DPS checkpoint on the border between Ingushetia and North Ossetia. According to medical officers, the wounded law enforcers stay in a stable condition and there is no threat to their lives.

On July 3, 2022, in the Alagirsky District, inspectors of the road police (known as GIBDD) stopped a car to inspect IDs of the people travelling by it. A driver and his passenger, both in the state of alcoholic intoxication, stayed in the car, and they refused to undergo medical examinations. The passenger got out of the car and activated a grenade, which killed him.

Prior to the above-mentioned incident, there had been no attacks on law enforcers in North Ossetia for at least three years, since July 3, 2019.
