Kadyrov boasts of his son's personal meeting with Putin

The President of Russia had a personal meeting with Akhmat Kadyrov, a son of Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, and congratulated him on his upcoming marriage, the father has boasted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September 2022, Sergey Kravtsov, the Russian Minister of Education, supported the initiative to appoint the 16-year-old Akhmat Kadyrov as chairman of the branch of the movement of children and youth. Minister Kravtsov promised to provide all-round support to Ramzan Kadyrov's son.

Kadyrov announced his son's meeting with Vladimir Putin in his Telegram channel. Akhmat Kadyrov went to meet Putin as chairman of the board of the children's and youth's "Movement of the First", Ramzan has explained. "It was an unofficial meeting at which the grandson of the first president of the Chechen Republic spoke about the youth policy in the region," he wrote.

At the end of the meeting, Putin congratulated Akhmat Kadyrov on his upcoming marriage, the head of Chechnya has noted.

Let us remind you that the traditions of early marriages are still preserved in Northern Caucasus. Although, according to the Russian Family Code, the marriageable age starts at 18 years old, if there are valid reasons, local authorities have the right to allow local residents to marry starting from 16 years of age. The lowest marriageable age – 14 years – is set up in Chechnya and Adygea, lawyers explained in October 2019.
