Activist Yaroslav Savin arrested in Astrakhan for five days

A court in Astrakhan has sentenced Yaroslav Savin, a member of the "Parnas" Party, to five days of arrest, finding him guilty of petty hooliganism. Savin was also fined by 30,000 roubles for the image of the Ukrainian flag in the Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 17, 2023, law enforcers detained Yaroslav Savin, a member of the political council of the Astrakhan regional branch of the "Parnas" Party. According to his wife, in the afternoon the point was in Yaroslav's post on the Internet, and in the evening he was officially detained under the article on petty hooliganism associated with disobedience to a law enforcer.

According to Marina, his wife, the court has treated the emoji with the Ukrainian flag placed next to Savin's name in his Telegram channel, which has ten subscribers, as discrediting of the Russian Army.

According to Marina, his petty hooliganism was in the fact that he had allegedly used bad language near the police station and did not stop swearing, despite a law enforcer's remark. "These are all their 'proofs'. It doesn't stand up to scrutiny," she has stated.

She was not allowed to attend the court session, although her husband filed a petition asking to admit her as a witness, since both were at home when law enforcers came to their home on February 17.
