New expertise protracts trial of Abdulmumin Gadjiev's case

The court has appointed a new examination of the articles by Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist for the Dagestani "Chernovik" outlet; therefore, the court sessions on his case have been postponed indefinitely, his wife has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the prosecution found it necessary to hold a repeated examination of Gadjiev's publications for any appeals contained therein, Arsen Shabanov, an advocate, has informed.

On January 10, at the court session on the case of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, Kemal Tambiev and Abubakar Rizvanov, the conclusions of the examination of Gadjiev's articles for the "Chernovik", conducted by the Southern Centre for Forensic Examination of the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ), were announced. In the submitted articles, experts found no signs of incitement to transfer money to the charitable fund, no calls to overthrow the power, and no signs of propaganda of the ideas of terrorist organizations and incitement of enmity and hatred towards law enforcers. This confirms the journalist's innocence, the defence has stated.

Laura, Kemal Tambiev's wife, has confirmed that the court will wait for the outcomes of a new examination. "Everyone is already exhausted by trials and wants to proceed to the final part thereof. But the prosecutor put forward a demand for a new examination of Abdulmumin's articles, which the court granted," she said.
