In November 2022, two persons perished in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In November 2022, during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, two people perished; there were no reports about any wounded ones. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

On November 21, an unknown man who attacked a GIBDD (traffic police) inspector with a knife and tried to escape with the latter's stolen pistol, was shot dead in Grozny. The inspector later died. This attack on a law enforcer in Chechnya was the first in more than 16 months. The previous similar incident occurred in Grozny on July 9, 2021. Since 2019, there have been at least five attacks with bladed weapons on law enforcers in the republic.

In other regions of Northern Caucasus, which also include Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania and the Stavropol Territory, no armed incidents and conflict victims were recorded in November 2022.

The presented statistics cannot accurately reflect the precise number of victims. Not all data is included in the news bulletins. It is not always possible to check how true the statements of law enforcement bodies are; and new data on the events of the reporting period become known sometimes after the publication of statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".

Earlier, in October 2022, no casualties were reported during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus.
