Chechen law enforcers publicly scold driver for dangerous driving

In the Kurchaloi District of Chechnya, law enforcers detained and reprimanded to the video recording a young man who violated traffic rules.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in January 2020, a video was posted, in which the head of the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division) demanded from his subordinates to take cars away from violators of traffic rules, and send the drivers to clean streets. Later it became known that law enforcers had forced the residents of the Kurchaloi District, guilty of drunk driving, to clean up the territory of the mosque.

A reader of the "Caucasian Knot" with the nickname wilbert.fadel has drawn attention to another video showing scolding a detainee. "A young guy in a passenger car made dangerous manoeuvres while driving to the oncoming lane ... Someone filmed this moment; and the video caught the eye of a ROVD employee; the violator was identified and subjected to public scolding," the reader has written.

The video was posted in the Instagram* public "ChP/Grozny".

Apart of Chechnya, the threat to confiscate a car to improve road safety is used nowhere in the world, Sergey Kanaev, the head of the Federation of Russian Car Owners, had stated earlier.

Let us remind you that the Kurchaloi ROVD is notable for frequent stories about preventive work with the population, Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, noted in September 2020. "Any reprimand of people is posted on the Internet in order to show how well local law enforcers work," he said.

Mr Kutaev has explained that the Kurchaloi District has a special status in Chechnya, since it is the birthplace of Ramzan Kadyrov and his father.
