Facts of incredible corruption are investigated in Chechnya

Corruption in Chechnya is prospering at all social levels and has reached unbelievable scale. The Republic's Public Prosecutor Valery Kuznetsov made this statement in his interview to the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" newspaper published today.

Mr Kuznetsov has informed, in particular, that now the Chechen Prosecutor's Office is busy investigating an unprecedented criminal case based on more than 4,500 forged applications for reception of compensatory payments for destroyed housing facilities.

According to the Public Prosecutor, it is the case of the sum of almost 1.5 billion roubles. "Whole city districts have been revealed that existed only on paper, and people, meanwhile, received 350,000 roubles each for their allegedly ruined houses," Prosecutor Kuznetsov explained and added that despite the well-developed verification procedure of the documents submitted for reception of compensations, "the larceny of budgetary money was on a flow."

  • Khamzat Kadyrov confirms drone attack on Chechnya

    Secretary of the Chechen Security Council Khamzat Kadyrov has posted on a social networking service a video of the destruction of a drone. The Chechen official has also added that all the drones launched today to attack the republic had been shot down.
