Death toll among natives of Southern Russia in Ukraine officially reaches 900

The authorities have confirmed the information about at least 900 residents of Southern Russia perished in Ukraine since the beginning of the special military operation, including 570 natives of the North-Caucasian Federal District and 330 natives of the South Federal District. Dagestan remains the leader in the number of the fighters perished in Ukraine.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that by October 27, according to the authorities of the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District and the South Federal District, the number of the fighters perished in Ukraine reached 850.

On September 21, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu announced that 5937 fighters had perished since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, the TASS reports.

The information about at least 570 perished residents of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), including 244 natives of Dagestan, has been officially confirmed. Officials also reported about the deaths of 103 natives of North Ossetia and 91 fighters from the Stavropol Territory, 46 natives of Kabardino-Balkaria, 53 residents of Chechnya, 28 natives of Ingushetia, and five residents of Karachay-Cherkessia.

The authorities of the regions and municipalities of the Southern Federal District (SFD) have reported about at least 330 people perished since the beginning of the special military operation. So, in the Volgograd Region, the information about 147 perished natives of the region, in the Rostov Region  – about 63, in the Krasnodar Region – about 53, and in the Astrakhan Region – about 46 perished natives was confirmed. Furthermore, the deaths of 11 natives of Adygea and 10 fighters from Kalmykia were officially confirmed.

Let us remind you that already on May 20, the number of law enforcers from Northern Caucasus perished in Ukraine exceeded the death toll in the last eight years of the armed conflict.

Earlier, analysts have pointed to the lack of information on the death toll in Ukraine.
