Pickets in support of journalist Gadjiev interest Makhachkala residents and guests

Passers-by and car drivers have paid attention to the pickets held by Abdulmumin Gadjiev's colleagues; the interest from tourists was also high, activists have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that colleagues of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, one the editors of the "Chernovik" weekly, are holding regular solo pickets in Makhachkala in his support. On October 31, the pickets were held by journalists Magomed Magomedov and Idris Yusupov; they demanded to stop the criminal prosecution of Gadjiev and release political prisoners.

The entire staff of the "Chernovik" weekly is sure that their colleague is innocent, Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the weekly, has stated. At the picket on October 31, he demanded the release of Gadjiev and the termination of his criminal prosecution.

Mr Magomedov has noted that on October 31, the reaction of passers-by to the pickets was more restrained than during the same action on October 24, but there was much more attention from tourists.

Idris Yusupov, a journalist, who held his picket demanding the release of political prisoners, has noted the active reaction of passers-by and car drivers to his poster. He has noted that while walking by, many people took photos of the poster and asked about the solo picket.

Law enforcers demanded standard written explanations from the picketers and asked who the addressee of picketers' demands was, and what the meaning of their actions was.
