Chechnya leads in rating with smallest number of registered crimes

In January-September this year, the smallest number of all crimes was registered in Chechnya; Ingushetia and Dagestan are also in the lead of the rating. The Volgograd Region became the anti-leader among the regions of Southern of Russia.

According to the data for the first eight months of 2022, most crimes related to drug dealing were committed in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) – 16.9% of all the crimes. The top ten anti-leaders also include North Ossetia, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Chechnya and the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR).

Among the regions of the Southern and North-Caucasian Federal Districts (SFD and NCFD), the largest number of crimes were committed in the Volgograd Region (the 51st place in the rating)) – 113.2 crimes per 10,000 residents.

The smallest number of crimes was revealed in the republics of Northern Caucasus: the KBR is in fifth place (67.9 crimes per 10,000 residents); Dagestan is in the third place (36.6 crimes); Ingushetia is the runner-up (32.9 crimes) and Chechnya is in lead (12.5 crimes).

According to the rating, most crimes were committed in the Amur Region (161.8 crimes per 10,000 residents). It is also the anti-leader of the rating in terms of grave and especially grave crimes – 43 crimes per 10,000 of population.
