Abubakar Yangulbaev comments on extension of his mother's arrest

By extending the arrest of Zarema Musaeva, the court in Grozny has upheld the investigators' unjustified arguments that a sick woman could escape from the republic, Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer and one of two Musaeva's son, has stated. Musaeva receives most of the necessary medicines only with the help of parcels, Alexander Nemov, her advocate, has added.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 7, the above court extended Musaeva's arrest by three months, until December 12.

When considering complaints against Musaeva's arrest, two judges of the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya self-withdrew. One of them referred to his friendly relations with Musaeva's husband, a former federal judge Saidi Yangulbaev.

Abubakar Yangulbaev has confirmed that the SC judges have self-withdrawn due to their acquaintance with his father, Saidi Yangulbaev.

Abubakar has stated that the judge of the above court fails to pronounce his position, but actually duplicates the one of the prosecution. "In its turn, this position refers to suspicions that Musaeva can escape," he has explained adding that his mother is physically unable to escape from Chechnya.

Let us remind you that Ramzan Kadyrov accused the Yangulbaevs of supporting terrorism and stated that their place is "in prison or under the earth." On March 30, it became known that investigators in Chechnya had refused to investigate the threats addressed to the Yangulbaev family.
