Advocate treats law enforcers' guilt of torturing two Nalchik townspeople at police station as proved

The proofs of the guilt of the three policemen accused of violence against Alexander Knyazev and Valery Levdik are the victims' traumas, as well as the fact that the policemen did not challenge their dismissal after an internal audit, the advocate has stated. In their turn, the policemen's advocates assert that their clients acted within their powers.

According to the prosecution, on October 28, 2016, the three policemen brought Knyazev and Levdik to the police station in Nalchik. The detainees denied their involvement in the theft, in which they were suspected by law enforcers. Investigators believe that the accused policemen and their colleagues "put bags over the heads of Knyazev and Levdik and roped their hands." Knyazev and Levdik were kept in the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for almost 24 hours. One of the defendants hit Knyazev several times in the area of the ribs and thigh, and hit him on the temple with his hands. The policeman "laid Levdik on the floor face down and inflicted at least six blows in the area of his kidneys."

Levdik has stated that he was not just detained, but kidnapped, as the persons who detained him failed to show any documents and were in civilian clothes. At the same time, nothing of the stolen items was found in his car and pockets, the victim has added.

Levdik and Knyazev filed a lawsuit claiming the amount of five million roubles each. They noted that they experienced moral and physical humiliation, the consequences of which are still telling on their health.
