During Eid al-Adha, North-Caucasian Muslims note increase in number of mosques visitors

After the lifting of all coronavirus restrictions, the number of mosque visitors during the Eid al-Adha holiday has greatly increased, believers from various North-Caucasian regions have stated.

On July 9, festive prayers on the occasion of Eid al-Adha were held in the mosques of Northern Caucasus. Thus, a mass prayer was held at the Cathedral Mosque of Nalchik; many believers prayed on their rugs outside the mosque. About 2000 believers came to the festive prayer at the Cathedral Mosque in Pyatigorsk. After the removal of covid restrictions, the mosque for the holiday prayer was packed, a Deputy Mufti of the Stavropol Territory has informed.

Amid the removal of mass covid restrictions, there is an influx of believers into mosques, Rasul Akhmedov, the Imam of Nevinnomyssk, has confirmed.

"The lifting of restrictions could not but affect believers' activeness. This, of course, has changed the situation for the better. People are happy and actively visit mosque and participate in various events. The number of people wishing to take part in them has increased, especially after a long break due to the coronavirus," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Akhmad Anchikhsky, the Imam of the Dagestani mosque "Nadiriyya" is sure that the abolition of mass covid restrictions has undoubtedly affected believers' activeness. According to his story, the first thing that catches the eye is the mosque crowdedness. Akhmad Anchikhsky also said that the lifting of restrictions has intensified philanthropists' activities.
