Kadyrov announces formation of four military battalions

Four military battalions "with an impressive number of personnel" will be formed in Chechnya, which will include "exclusively Chechen guys," Ramzan Kadyrov has stated.

He wrote on his Telegram channel that four battalions would be formed in the republic, entitled "North-Akhmat", "South-Akhmat", "West-Akhmat" and "East-Akhmat".

He has noted that the new battalions are formed because of the "extremely patriotic mood of the youth of the region" and "will replenish the contingent of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation." "The number of people who want to stand up for the defence of their Motherland is growing exponentially," Mr Kadyrov has assured.

Earlier, Kadyrov claimed that "hundreds, if not thousands" of volunteers arrive in Chechnya every day to be trained in Gudermes and sent to Ukraine. On June 6, Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, announced the number of fighters sent from Chechnya to Ukraine – 8172 people.

At the same time, Internet users have repeatedly called on Kadyrov to disclose the number of the law enforcers and volunteers who perished in Ukraine. On June 22, the head of Chechnya announced the deaths of eight policemen in Ukraine.
