Chechen Djumaev placed into dungeon

Said-Mukhammad Djumaev, a native of Chechnya, who was sentenced to five years within the case of using violence against law enforcers, has been place into the dungeon (punishment cell).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 19, 2021, Mikail Markhiev (Said-Mukhammad Djumaev) was sentenced to five years in prison on charges that on January 23, 2021, he had clashed with law enforcers at a rally in support of the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny*. On February 21, 2022, the court upheld the verdict. The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial"** has declared Djumaev to be a political prisoner. In May, his aunt reported that Djumaev had been transferred to a colony in the Vladimir Region, where Navalny* is currently serving his sentence.

Djumaev's advocates have found out that he is now in a punishment cell; he was placed there for three minor violations. He said that no physical violence was used against him.
