Opposition resumes disobedience actions in Yerevan

Oppositionists have blocked several streets in Yerevan demanding the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. In order to unblock the traffic, law enforcers began detaining protesters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 2, in Yerevan, the opposition announced disobedience actions and blocked more than a dozen city streets. Later, law enforcers unblocked the streets and detained 244 people. Oppositionists reproached law enforcers for unjustified aggression. According to the "Union of Informed Citizens", on May 2, up to 4000 people took part in protests in Yerevan.

After policemen unblocked the intersection of Sayat-Nova and Moskovyan Streets, activists began marching along other streets, calling on people to join their protests. The passing by cars supported them with signals of solidarity.

Aik Mamidjanyan, an MP from the opposition faction "I have the honour!" has noted that it is now difficult to find an open street. From early morning, people began blocking streets; the city is paralyzed, he has asserted.

Apart from Yerevan, in the morning on May 3, the opposition also began blocking roads in regions, Ishkhan Sagatelyan, the Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, has informed.
