Baku and Yerevan agree on features of joint border commission

The Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFAs) of Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed on the parameters of the members of the joint border commission, as well as on a meeting of the working group for drafting a peace treaty.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 6, a meeting of the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliev, with the Armenian Premier, Nikol Pashinyan, took place in Brussels. As a result of the talks, both parties agreed to set up, by the end of April, a bilateral commission for delimiting the mutual borders, and to start drafting a peace agreement.

The heads of the countries' MFAs – the Azeri Djeikhun Bairamov and the Armenian Ararat Mirzoyan – in the course of a phone conversation, have reached an agreement on the issue of "the parameters of the members of the joint border commission," the press service of the Azerbaijani MFA has informed today.

According to the press service, Messrs Bairamov and Mirzoyan also agreed to organize, in the near future, meetings of the joint working group for drafting a peace treaty.

Besides, Baku and Yerevan have agreed to continue steps in the humanitarian sphere, the Azerbaijani MFA said in its statement that was translated by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
