Nine Kuban National Guard fighters agree to dismissal for refusing to go to Ukraine

Today, of twelve fighters of the National Guard of Russia dismissed after refusing to go to Ukraine, only three have confirmed in a Krasnodar court their intention to seek reinstatement.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 25, Police Captain Farid Chitav, a platoon commander of the OMON (riot police) squadron of the National Guard of Russia, and eleven fighters from his squadron, who had been in Crimea on military exercises since February 6, refused to obey the order of the detachment commander to cross the border between Russia and Ukraine. The fighters were returned to Krasnodar, subjected to an internal check, and dismissed. The fighters of the National Guard of Russia considered their dismissal illegal and filed a lawsuit for reinstatement in the service.

Today, the Prikubansky District Court has held a preliminary hearing on a lawsuit filed by the fighters of the National Guard of Russia, Krasnodar advocate Mikhail Benyash, who represents the interests of the dismissed fighters, reports on his Telegram channel.

Nine plaintiffs dropped the lawsuit, the advocate notes. “Nine persons filed a waiver of the claim, and the case against them was dismissed. The court requested the materials of internal checks from the department of the National Guard of Russia. The preliminary court hearing was postponed until April 1,” Mikhail Benyash wrote.
