Discussion of tourists' behaviour rules resumed after murder in KChR

The murder of a tourist in the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) has no justification; guests in the Caucasus have always been treated with respect, said Zarina Doguzova, the head of the "Rostourism" (the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism). In their turn, Instagram users have pointed out that tourists need to be reminded of the need to follow the rules of conduct adopted in Northern Caucasus.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Moscow were driving to Arkhyz, and on February 16, stopped near the village of Kardonikskaya. A car with two local residents drove up to them; and a conflict broke out that escalated into a brawl. One of the tourists was wounded in his stomach and died on the way to the hospital. According to the "Baza" Telegram channel, the tourist relieved himself on the roadside; and the locals didn't like it.

Zarina Doguzova, the head of the "Rostourism", has reacted to the murder of the tourist in the KChR: "I really hope that the culprit will be found and punished to the fullest extent of the law. In the Caucasus, a guest is a sacred person; and nothing can justify what has happened," she has noted.

Instagram users believe that tourists coming to rest in Northern Caucasus must follow the rules of conduct adopted in these regions. "The KChR is a stable and hospitable region, which makes this incident even more shocking. I would like guests to respect the locals, respect and honour their customs and traditions. It's a pity that the case had such tragic consequences," the user safinamarika has written.

The user zayrfi has emphasized that tourists should be told more about the specifics of behaviour in the regions of Northern Caucasus. "We need to make a separate post on how to behave in a particular region, so that people know and respect our traditions! Why, if a tourist has come, then he can do everything?! Please behave in a proper manner, and everything will be fine Okay!" the user has written.
