Zakuskin apologizes to elderly Chechen woman Yusupkhadjieva

On February 16, Alexander Zakuskin, the head of the council of deputies of the Meschansky District of Moscow, personally met Salima Yusupkhadjieva and apologized to her for the incident at the mosque. Yusupkhadjieva forgave him, as follows from the video of their meeting.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 10, the 69-year-old Salima Yusupkhadjieva, who was selling sausages at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, had to call an ambulance after Zakuskin sprayed pepper gas into her face. On February 12, in his telephone conversation with Adam Delimkhanov, an adviser to the head of Chechnya, who called him, Zakuskin admitted that he "overdid it" during the incident and promised to apologize for his actions.

The video with Alexander Zakuskin apologizing to Salima Yusupkhadjieva during their meeting was posted in the page of the "Vainakh" GTRK (State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) on the Instagram. It shows Zakuskin approaching the elderly woman with the words of apology, hands her a bouquet of flowers, a basket of fruits and sweets and says: "I've rethought the whole situation. You are my mother's age. I shouldn't have done that."

In response, the woman says that she has accepted the apology and is glad that "justice has prevailed." "But you shouldn't do that to women," she has added.
