In Quarter 4 of 2021, two persons perished in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In the period from October 1 to December 31, 2021, at least two people suffered during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Both were killed; and there were no reports of any wounded ones. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

According to official data, the casualties were militants. The FSB reported that they had been plotting a terror act; and weapons and an explosive device were found at the venue of the shootout.

These statistics cannot reflect the number of victims with a hundred percent precision. Not all data is included in the news bulletins. It is not always possible to check how true the statements of law enforcement bodies are; and new data on the events of the reporting period become known sometimes after the publication of statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".

In October and December 2021, no victims of the armed conflict were recorded. In November, two persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus – both were killed as alleged members of the armed underground. It happened in Karachay-Cherkessia during a counter-terrorist operation (CTO).

In Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Stavropol Territory and Chechnya, no victims of the armed conflict were recorded in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Earlier, in Quarter 3 of 2021, at least 8 people fell victim to the conflict in Northern Caucasus. Seven of them were killed; according to official data, they were militants; while one, armed with a knife, attacked members of the combined police detachment of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Chechnya.
