State Duma members urge prosecutors to react to Delimkhanov’s threats

The law enforcement bodies, including the General Prosecutor’s Office, should give an estimate to the Adam Delimkhanov’s promise to punish the Yangulbaev family, State Duma members Nikolai Arefiev and Vyacheslav Markhaev have said today.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 1, Adam Delimkhanov, a State Duma member and an adviser to the leader of Chechnya, posted a video on his Instagram page in which he voiced threats in the Chechen language against the members of the Yangulbaev family.

Today, Nikolai Arefiev, a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), the first deputy chair of the State Duma Commission on Parliamentary Ethics, has declared that the reports about the threats voiced by State Duma member Adam Delimkhanov against the Yangulbaev family must be checked by the General Prosecutor’s Office.

“I think that such things should be considered not by the Commission on Parliamentary Ethics, but by the General Prosecutor’s Office. Such threats are a serious matter. And such a person is dangerous to society: he must be registered, and his actions should be monitored,” the “Interfax” quotes Nikolai Arefiev as stating.

The Adam Delimkhanov’s threats must be checked by the law enforcement bodies, agrees Vyacheslav Markhaev, a former senator, a State Duma member from the CPRF.

“There is the rule of law in Russia, and no one is allowed [to do extrajudicial things]. If [the Adam Delimkhanov’s words] contain a corpus delicti, then he should be brought to responsibility. There are a lot of incomprehensible things in this story: why [Zarema Musaeva] was taken to Chechnya after her detention and why we react so humbly to such things,” said Vyacheslav Markhaev as quoted today by the Moscow publication “Info24”.
