In November 2021, two people perished during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In November 2021, during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, two persons were killed; no information about any wounded persons was reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

On November 26, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in a wooded mountainous area located 10 kilometres southeast of the city of Karachaevsk, near the Kamennomost-Uchkulan highway. The CTO regime was explained by the search for two militants in the Karachay District. Law enforcers killed two armed men who, according to the FSB, had planned a terror act. Weapons and an explosive device were found at the venue of the shootout.

The statistics cited cannot accurately reflect the number of victims. Not all the data gets into news bulletins. It is not always possible to check how true the statements of law enforcement bodies are; and new data on the events that happened during the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of statistics on the "Caucasian Knot".

This CTO conducted in Karachay-Cherkessia was the first one in four years. In December 2017, five alleged militants were killed during a CTO conducted in a dacha settlement in the outskirts of the village of Zelenchukskaya.

In Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia-Alania, Stavropol Territory and Chechnya, no victims of the armed conflict were recorded in November 2021.
