Return of Mitsaeva to Chechnya becomes Kadyrov’s political trump card

The political influence of Rubati Mitsaeva, a former comrade-in-arms of Akhmed Zakaev, is not great, but the Chechen authorities got an opportunity to present her return to the republic as their achievement, sources of the “Caucasian Knot” suggest. According to lawyers, Rubati Mitsaeva will not face criminal prosecution in her homeland.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on December 14, Rubati Mitsaeva arrived in Grozny, where she was met at the airport by Akhmed Dudaev, Minister for National Policy of Chechnya, Musa Dadaev, Minister of Sports, and Magomed Khambiev, member of the Chechen Parliament.

Rubati Mitsaeva lived in Germany and on October 6, she asked Ramzan Kadyrov to permit her to return to Chechnya. The leader of Chechnya let Rubati Mitsaeva understand that she would not face criminal prosecution at home. When commenting on the reasons for her address to Ramzan Kadyrov, the woman mentioned her desire to live at home and be among relatives.

Rubati Mitsaeva returned to Chechnya because of personal reasons, says Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations. “She is just tired of war, politics, and persecution,” Ruslan Kutaev believes.

According to him, although Rubati Mitsaeva was considered almost the second person after Akhmed Zakaev, in fact, she did not play any significant role.

The authorities of Chechnya will present Rubati Mitsaeva’s arrival as their victory, the spokesman for the “1Adat” Movement says. The opposition movement believes that Rubati Mitsaeva’s attacks on blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov were part of an agreement on her return to the homeland.

In 2021, Suniyat, a daughter of Rubati Mitsaeva, was among the winners of the contest for the best portrait of Ramzan Kadyrov or his parents.
