Aliev and Pashinyan agree on border delimitation and railway communication

At their meeting in Brussels, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed to create a temporary working group for delimiting the mutual border and unblocking the railway.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that prior to the meeting in Brussels, Ilham Aliev and Nikol Pashinyan exchanged claims. The Zangezur Corridor, which Baku is seeking to open, should work on the same conditions as the Lachin one, Mr Aliev has claimed. In his turn, Mr Pashinyan accused his Azerbaijani counterpart of trying to bring the issue of opening regional communications to a dead end.

The European Union (EU) will provide help in demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Charles Michel, the head of the EU, has stated, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The meeting also discussed the demining of the territories that came under Azerbaijan's control. The EU is ready to provide technical assistance in this matter.

The parties have confirmed the agreement on unblocking the railway, the "Aysor.am" has reported with reference to the press service of the Armenian government.
